#2 - events
This week we will be working with the "On this day" section of the list you printed out from the Scope Systems Any Day in History web site at http://www.scopesys.com/anyday/.
Prepare the following on separate sheets of paper. Head each paper using our standard format. Proofread your work for legibility; punctuation; capitalization; spelling; and, in the case of #4 in parts 2 & 3, conciseness and complete sentences. Number your answers. Be prepared to report on your research next Friday in class.

The New York Times has a web site that focuses on important events. Its URL is http://www.nytimes.com/learning/general/onthisday/. At the bottom of the page is a link that says, "Go to a previous date." Click on it, then click on the link for your birth date. Print the page for your binder, and use its information to respond to the following.
Part 3 – due Thursday
The Library of Congress also has a web site that focuses on important events. The URL for its archive is http://lcweb2.loc.gov/ammem/today/archive.html. Use option 2 on the archive page to jump to your birth date. Print the page you find for your binder, and use its information to respond to the following.
